Atheism

I don't believe in the supernatural.
I'm very appreciative of the good done by people of all faiths throughout history.
I am also aware of the negative aspects of supernatural beliefs.

The Treaty of Tripoli
A Peace treaty between the US and Tripoli of Barbari
Unanimously approved by the Senate on June 7, 1797 and subsequently signed by President John Adams.

Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

George H.W. Bush Sr.
Question:    "Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?"
Bush Sr.:     "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots.
This is one nation under God."

Local atheist Wendy Britton on Michael Medved's
Right Wing Radio Show in 2005

She went on the Argosy cruise boat for their advertised Holiday Karaoke event. Instead of pleasant music, she's seeing extremely offensive material by the guests of KTTH. They are singing parody songs like 'It's Getting To Feel A Lot Like Ramadan" by the conservative Seattle AM radio station's guests. One of their guests was Medved. The event is described here by BlatherWatch. Following the cruise, she was invited on Medved's show.
